In this one, you arrive at the boss fight after depleting everything you have while running from the regenerator and his never-ending lackies. DS1 gave you a ton of resources right before the final boss fight to prepare you. Won't be a popular opinion on this sub but this boss fight was atrocious - as was the run-up to it while the regenerator (name?) chases you.
